There is new construction behind my lot and I’m having drainage problems due to the construction. If the system is private, then it is the responsibility of the homeowners association or the individual homeowner to maintain the system. If there is a problem with a public storm drain system, we can inspect for blockage and remove debris if present. The storm drain system may have become clogged. Please contact the Department of Public Works at 81. The storm drain system on my street does not appear to be functioning as well as it used to. ![]() At this time, the city's priority is to address those areas of the city where there has been property damage from flooding. A solution would be to install underground storm drains, which would be costly. While it seems to be constant during wetter seasons, the runoff is not flooding anyone’s homes or causing other damage. Following citizen inquiries in March 2018, Public Works again tested water samples from the street and confirmed it is natural water on the roadway, not treated water. ![]() The city is aware that there is often water on Starnes Road in the area of Kingswood Court and Peachtree Trail. Public Works staff previously looked into this and determined the source of the water to be natural groundwater and runoff, not treated water which would be indicative of a water main leak or over irrigation. Why is there always water on Starnes Road and why isn't the city doing anything about it? ![]()
